Dog portraiture has a long history in art dating back to Queen Victoria. It is in the continuation of this tradition that Clae Eastgate is making her mark. Clae has the ability to capture both representation and character unique to each of her subjects. Her fluid brushwork and careful observation, finished with a classical realism, has elevated her to one of the UK's foremost portrait painters in canine art.

Daniel Cole’s background and training in Scientific Illustration have lent his landscape paintings an informed sensitivity to the natural world. Having observed and sketched wild birds from an early age, Cole developed his skills through a series of expeditions around the world, studying each region’s indigenous birds and honing his techniques in sketching and painting.

Elizabeth has always enjoyed visits to the countryside and has a keen interest in wildlife. She works in black and white as well as colour.
Recently she has been inspired by the dogs and their owners that she meets on walks in her local park. She enjoys a love of detail, whether drawing in ink or painting in watercolour and relishes the sense of escapism she experiences while she works.

Hilke MacIntyre was born in Germany and studied architecture in Kiel. After moving to Scotland in 1995 she has concentrated on printing, painting and ceramics, combining a simplified figurative style with bold shapes, strong colours and abstract patterns. Her work is widely exhibited in galleries and has been selected many times for the annual show at the Royal Scottish Academy.

Howard Milton studied painting under Ruskin Spear, but Graphic Design shaped his career. Milton came to international prominence during the 80s design boom, recognised for a lifetime’s contribution to British design in the Design Council’s Prince Philip award.
But he never stopped painting and the observational skills developed as a designer are evident in his still life and landscape paintings.

Janet is a Brighton based printmaker who has been producing hand printed linocuts and screenprints celebrating some of the more unusual and quirky aspects of the city for a number of years. In her latest series of works she has taken the seaside itself as her inspiration and in particular those ever present new additions to our local seascape, the mysterious wind turbines hovering on the horizon, appearing to alter their size and colour with each passing change in the weather.

Jenni was born in London as one of seven children. She describes her life growing up as simple and beautiful, full of camping, foraging and freedom. Her degree in Visual Communication shines through in the humorous storytelling of her images.
Jenni works in acrylic on panel, often using a distorted scale with a viewpoint from above, as if she is looking down on little worlds. She is inspired by her happy childhood and the magic in the everyday. She uses real people and their pets in her work as well as stories told by her social media followers! Her quirky, funny prints have been exhibited in galleries and Affordable Art Fairs.

International award winning animal artist Julie Brunn achieved a fine art degree from Birmingham School of Art in 2000, after which she pursued a career as an animal keeper working mostly with primates. Starting a family gave Brunn the chance to rediscover her painting talents. Combining this with her love for animals and wildlife, Brunn is able to capture the characters and personalities of her subjects in her unique ethereal style.

Melissa Scott-Miller paints mainly urban landscapes, specialising in London where she was born and still lives, as well as interiors and portraits of people in their surroundings. She is fascinated by light and pattern and texture, particularly on bricks and slates of London buildings and the flora and fauna found in city gardens and parks.
Melissa likes to work outside, and sometimes from windows, where she can paint larger views. Often favouring unusual viewpoints and with close ups of bricks and leaves in the foreground. She paints with very small brushes, putting great care and attention into each section and generally not going back to it.

Mychael Barratt was born in Toronto, Canada but thinks of himself as a Londoner since arriving for what was meant to be a two-week stay twenty years ago. He has that immigrant's zeal for his adopted home and his narrative pieces include local settings that have a personal resonance. His work that pilfers from the history of art is humorous but is always done in the spirit of genuine admiration and homage.

Richard Allen lives in Essex, where estuaries and marshes teeming with waders and wildfowl inspire him on his early morning dog walks. He is attracted to birds with bold plumage such as Avocets and Puffins, and the patterns in water, mud and sky, as well as the smaller garden birds. This is reflected in his dynamic linocuts and watercolours.

Pattern, colour and texture all play a large part in Sally Anne’s work, a throwback from her past as a textile designer and ceramicist. She uses collage and gold leaf in her paintings to create a surface with a mosaic feel. She uses techniques of layering and scraping back to create texture that results in vibrant, luminous paintings.
